MEMBERSHIP

OBA has many distinquished members among its earlier graduates of the school (Eg. Chandra Das, Anamah Tan, Teo Chong Tee, Ng Chee Keong, Koh Choon Hui, Prof S. Gopinathan, Lak Pati Singh, TT Durai, Siva Choy, Chandra Mohan, Prof Yeo Jinn Fei, Goh Choon Leng, Lee Tow Kiat, Alan Chua, Derrick De Silva , Lim Jun Han, Ong Beng Kheong, Dr Gerald Chiu, among others).

Lately we are much encouraged to have many new members signing up as well, especially from the later cohorts. Among whom are, Shahril Ahmad (1991), Jeffrey Goh Say Eng (1980), Sobiram Thapa (1997), Bhupal Pun (1997), Mh Hairul & Md Haidir bin Jamal (2001), Feroz Amzah (1990), Mike Chang Pang Chian (1994), Sjaiful Sjahrin (1990), Tan Hui Ling (2000), Lee Guo Guan (2002), Mohd Faisal Bin Maun (1998), Wan Zulkanian Wan Mohd (1985) and See Kwang Yang (1996).

We are also very glad to welcome our lady members like Julia Han, Animah, Ng Lai Cheng, Judy Lim, among others.

How to join us?

1. Ordinary Members shall be confined to old boys and girls of the school. Persons currently attending school including universities, polytechnics and Ngee Ann College shall be excluded.
   
   
2. Honorary members and advisors shall be confined to current principal and members of the teaching staff of the school. They shall not have any vote, hold office or have any say in the management of the association.
   
   
3. Patrons shall be confined to members of the Board of Management of the School. They shall not have any vote, hold office or have any say in the management of the association nor shall they act in any advisory capacity.
   
4. A person wishing to join the OBA must submit his name to the Hon. Secaretary. A new member must be proposed and seconded by existing members. His name will then be put on the Notice Board in the OBA's premises for one week at the end of which time, he will be eligible for the membership provided that there are no objections. In the event of objections being raised, the committee will decide on the matter.

Subscriptions :

An annual subscription of S$10.00 is payable by Ordinary and Honorary Members within the first six months of the year. If a member falls into arrears with his subscription or other dues, he shall be informed immediately by the Hon. Treasurer. If he fails to settle his arrears within three months of their becoming due, he shall cease to be a member. The rate of annual subscription may only be varied by a general meeting of the members.

The management committee may elect any Ordinary member with at least 5 years' continuous membership to be a Life Member on payment of not less than S$100.00. However, the management committee shall have discretionary power to elect any Ordinary member to life membership.
