Ms Animah Bte Abdul Gani
Advocate and Solicitor
Class of 1966 - 1967

Animah studied law at the then University of Singapore and graduated with a Second Class Honours Upper Division in 1972.

She has a rich and varied experience having spent 28 years practising law with various government bodies.

She was appointed as a State Counsel and Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Attorney General's Chambers in 1972. 4 years later, she joined the Legal Aid Bureau as an Assistant Director. In 1981 she was the legal adviser to the Department of Civil Aviation (now known as the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore). In 1985 she became the Head of Legal Services Division of the Ministry of National Development. For the next 9 years she was the Deputy Director of the Insolvency & Public Trustee Office. She last held the post of Deputy Director, Legal Aid Bureau, Ministry of Law.

In Bartley, she joined the Malay & English L.D.D.S and the History Society. She assisted in the production of a school magazine. She was a school prefect and a librarian. Her 2 years in Bartley had somewhat changed her outlook in life. She is no longer the serious and reserved person she used to be.

Currently retired from the legal service, she has set up her own legal practice. She is also a happy grandmother of two girls.
