Mr Tan Pheng Hock

Mr Tan Pheng Hock graduated with first class honours in marine engineering from the University of Surrey, UK. In 1993, he was conferred with Master of Science (Management) from Stanford University, USA. Mr Tan attended the 157th Advanced Management Programme at Harvard University in 1999.
Mr Tan was appointed in February 2002 as President & Chief Office (CEO) of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engg), one of the largest companies by market capitalisation, listed on the Singapore Exchange. ST Engg is an integrated engineering group with a global pressence and specialising in the fields of aerospace, electronics, land systems and marine.
Mr Tan's role as President and CEO is to integrate and leverage on the Group's strengths and capabilities and to steer the Group towards its vision of becoming a global defence and engineering company.
Mr Tan's specialised expertise has contributed to the organisation's growth. The company was conferred the Singapore Quality Award, the highest honour given to organizations in Singapore for business excellence. He feels that passion, persistence and perseverance helped to make the effort pay off.
His career with Singapore Technologies (ST) Engineering Ltd started from 1981 as an engineer in ST Marine. Through the years, he also held the position of President of both ST Kinetics and Corporate Affairs of ST Engineering.
Mr Tan likes jogging and does so at least four times a week. He enjoys Chinese and Japanese food, but does not have any favorite dishes.
