Mr.Koh Choon Hui was a student of Bartley Secondary School from 1956 to 1959. He is one old Bartleyan who has perhaps the longest association with the school, spanning a period of over three decades.
He served in the OBA in the early sixties as Vice President. In 1978 he served as a member of the School Advisory Committee (SAC), and in 1979 was elected Chairman of the SAC, and served in that capacity for a record twenty six years till end February 2005.
Mr. Koh is currently Chairman and Managing Director of Roche Singapore Pte Ltd, a company he set up in 1973. Roche Singapore is a subsidiary of the Swiss pharmaceutical giant, Roche Holding based in Basle, Switzerland.
Besides being a successful corporate leader, Choon Hui also dedicates himself to community service work. In recognition of his many years of selfless service to the community he was conferred the Public Service Medal (PBM) in 1984, the Public Service Star (BBM) in 1991 and the Public Service Star Bar (BBM (L)) in 2001.
In 1998 Mr. Koh was appointed a Justice of the Peace, by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Singapore . Currently he is serving as Chairman of the Board of Visiting Justices and Board of Inspection.
He continues to dedicate himself to community service work and serves as Chairman of Singapore Children's Society, a position he has held since 1978. He also serves as a member of the Singapore Totalisator Board, and member of the Panel of Enquiry, Public Service Commission.
A committed volunteer, Mr Koh Choon Hui has also served in numerous other charities and service clubs.
